Bali airport launches Christmas operations to support 1.3 million tourists

Tourists planning to visit Bali this Christmas and New Year will be pleased to learn that I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has officially opened an Integrated Post Office to monitor traffic over Christmas and New Year 2024.

For those who remember the travel chaos on Christmas 2023, the news that support is assured for the entire festive period is a welcome relief.

The Natar post to monitor traffic at Bali Airport, which opened on the afternoon of Wednesday 18 December 2024, will remain open until 5 January 2025.

The task is simple: to ensure the efficient, safe and convenient movement of Bali’s 1.3 million arriving tourists around the island, but especially at Bali Airport.

Leading authorities in Bali, including Angkasa Pura Indonesia, the Region IV Airport Authority, Denpasar Health Quarantine Center (BBKK), Ngurah Rai Airport Police, Indonesian Air Force, Basarnas, and the Bali Agency for Metrology, Climatology and Geophysics are collaborating on this mission.

The busiest day for travel at Bali Airport is forecast to be December 20, when 489 aircraft movements will take place at the international and domestic terminals, with a maximum of 83,635 passengers.

 

Speaking to reporters, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, director general of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, said he predicted that Ngurah Rai Airport would handle 1.3 million passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays and that it would handle an average of nearly 70,000 passengers a day.
